Charleston has a new public library located in the former Charleston WPA Gymnasium located on South School Street. Converting the WPA Gymnasium cost nearly one-million dollars and was paid for with a millage increase approved several years ago.

The Charleston Public Library is part of the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library System which allows patrons to check out books at Ozark, Paris, Booneville, Clarksville, Danville, & Dardanelle.
